We don't offer Lumineers brand of mass-marketed Porcelain Veneers

We think they are too thin to be particularly strong or exceptionally aesthetic.  However they are easier for inexperienced dentists to use.  This video on Why we don’t offer Lumineers Porcelain Veneers was created in our Porcelain Veneers office.

Hi this is Dr. Jeff Dorfman at The Center for Special Dentistry in New York City talking about why we do not offer Lumineers. Lumineers are a mass-market type of porcelain veneer that is only about 0.2mm thick, in contrast to a more typical porcelain veneer which is 1.0-1.5mm thick. At our practice, our porcelain veneers are the thicker dimension and they are custom fabricated by master ceramists in New York City. We believe the greater thickness and the fact that they are created by a master ceramist custom-fabricated for our individual patients, will allow them to be stronger and far much more aesthetic than a Lumineer. And that is why we only offer custom-fabricated porcelain veneers in our practice.
