Dental Student Expectations for their first job in private practice

Over the years we occasionally offered a simple questionnaire to 106 dental students. We have created scatter plots below to show you their answers to seven seemingly “simple” questions. What do you think? Ask your classmates, professors and friends in private practice. We have found: 1) most student’s really don’t have any idea how to answer these questions, and 2) their answers frequently deviate significantly from reality. Schools should really provide students this knowledge but they typically don’t.
